"Hospice only served my
husband for a short time, but I was impressed with their
handling of our situation. Everyone was so sweet and nice.
We had not insurance, but they took good care of us and I wanted
to give something back.
When I went to a Care and
Share Meeting they said I was a natural caregiver and suggested
volunteering. I'm glad they did because I like being there
to help others who are going through the process of losing a
loved one."

"I'm past retirement age,
but my volunteer job gives me a purpose and an activity to look
forward to each week. The people are wonderful and I get a
lot of personal satisfaction out of my involvement."
Faye Pellett, Volunteer
"The patients are so
precious and I can't say enough about the administration, nurses
and home health aides. I'm so impressed with the compassion the
people of Heart'sWay have for the patients and families.
After eight years of hospice service, there's no doubt in my
mind this is where the Lord wants me to be."

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to:
-
Help patients and families with their
non-medical needs such as companionship, transportation and
help with errands
-
Contact family members who have lost loved
ones to offer your compassion and emotional support
-
Help with our office work and fundraising
efforts
Knowing your volunteer time is making a difference in the
lives of other people is always gratifying, but our volunteers
often say they get back more than they give. New
friendships, skills and perspectives make the Heart'sWay Hospice
volunteer experience particularly rewarding. We do not
encourage volunteers who have been bereaved within the last
year. If you still wish to participate the agency will
evaluate your emotional/grief status before assignment.
